Depart from Chiang Mai and travel to Sukhothai Town via a scenic 4.5-hour drive through northern Thailand’s stunning landscapes.
Visit Srisatchanalai Historical Park
Explore the ancient ruins of Srisatchanalai, home to 134 historical monuments: Chang Lom Temple: Marvel at the Sri Lankan-style chedi surrounded by 39 elephant sculptures. Chedi Jet Thaew Temple: Discover a large compound with rows of chedis representing various art styles, including Sri Lankan and Srivijaya. Nang Phaya Temple: Admire the intricate stucco designs reflecting early Ayutthaya influences.

Visit Sukhothai Historical Park
Continue to Sukhothai Historical Park and explore its iconic sites: King Ramkhamhaeng Monument: Visit the bronze statue of Thailand’s revered king and learn about his contributions. Mahathat Temple: Admire the largest temple in Sukhothai with its lotus-bud shaped chedi and ruined viharn. Si-Sa Wai Temple: Discover the three prangs of this former Hindu shrine turned Buddhist monastery. Traphang-Ngoen Temple: View the main sanctuary and its surrounding pond with a stunning Buddha image. Sa-Sri Temple: Explore the chedi built on an island and the viharn with a stucco Buddha.
