Link Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in five days, from Doi Suthep and Mae Taeng's river valley to the White Temple, Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle.
Meet your guide at your hotel and travel to Chiang Rai by road (3 hours' drive) along scenic routes through several beautiful northern mountains. On the way, visit the local Hot Spring at Mae Ka Chan Town for a short break, watching locals boil quail eggs.
Arrive in Chiang Rai and visit Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple, whose brilliant white surfaces and mirrored details shimmer in the sun.
Pause for lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue to Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple, for vivid colour and contemporary Buddhist art.
Continue to Baan Dam Museum, the Black House, a dramatic collection of dark Lanna-style pavilions filled with unconventional sculpture and woodcraft.
Visit Wat Huay Pla Kang, home to the tallest statue of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, standing 79 metres tall, and the Nine-Story Pagoda, its layered roofs decorated in Chinese style with dragons. After the visit, transfer to your hotel for check-in and leisure time.
