08:00 hrs.: Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Ayutthaya, setting the stage for a full day of historical exploration in Ayutthaya, Thailand’s ancient capital.
09:30 hrs.: Wat Yai Chaimongkon Begin your journey into the past at Wat Yai Chaimongkon, renowned for its towering stupas and serene Buddha statues. This site offers a glimpse into the Buddhist influence on the ancient kingdom.
: Transfer you to within Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The ancient capital was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong and it was from here that the Siamese ruled their Kingdom for 417 years.
: Wat Mahathat Next, visit Wat Mahathat, famous for the Buddha head entwined in tree roots. This iconic image symbolizes Ayutthaya’s spiritual heritage and resilience, making it a must-visit for an authentic feel of the ancient city’s ambiance.
: Then continue to visit Wat Ratchaburana sits right next to Wat Mahathat, in the symbolic center of the old city. Established in 1424 by King Boromaraja II, the temple was built to hold the ashes of his elder brothers, who killed each other in battle - on elephant back - fighting over the throne.
: Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit Visit Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, a sanctuary containing a large bronze cast Buddha image that was originally enshrined in the open area outside the Grand Palace and later covered by a building during the reign of King Songtham. The building was badly damaged by fire during the fall of Ayutthaya, and the one currently seen was reconstructed but does not have the same level of craftsmanship as the previous one.
: Wat Phra Si Sanphet Visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the most important temple within the Royal Palace compound and the original from which the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok was copied. Three outstanding Ceylonese style pagodas were built in the 15th century to enshrine the ashes of three Ayutthayan kings.
: Continue to Ayutthaya Ancient Palace, which was originally built by King U-Thong in the 14th century and was expanded over the years. These pavilions were completely destroyed in 1767, leaving only the brick foundations, porticos, and walls.

Optional Tour [PAY ON SPOT] Option1: Elephant Riding Experience the thrill of elephant riding in Ayutthaya Historical Park, a unique 30-minute journey that transports you back to the grandeur of Thailand’s ancient capital. Option2: Chao Sam Phraya National Museum This museum is perfect for history buffs who admire fine arts and handicraft of the Ayutthaya period. Housed in the museum are various original antiques, mostly made of gold and decorated with precious jewels. In addition, there are various antique bronze Buddha images and famous carved panels.
13:30 hrs.: Wat Chaiwatthanaram Across the Rivers to the south of the Island to visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram, one of Ayutthaya’s most beautiful temples, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Its stunning architecture, inspired by Angkor Wat, provides a perfect end to your day of exploration.
14:30 hrs.: Leave Ayutthaya and pass through green paddy fields, villages, and temples on the way back to Bangkok. (1.5-2 hour)

"We wanted to express our sincere appreciation for our driver during our four-day tour. When we were first picked up in Bangkok, I briefly wondered whether hiring a private driver had been an unnecessary splurge because traffic was lighter than I had expected. By the end of the trip, however, it had become clear that it was one of the very best decisions we made. Ayutthaya is a perfect example. Without a driver, I think we would have seen perhaps a third of what we actually experienced, and we would have been much more tired. Instead, we enjoyed a relaxed and breezy day moving efficiently between the ruined temples, the temples that escaped destruction, and the excellent museum. Our driver also recommended wonderful local restaurants where we sampled memorable dishes, including pakwan tree leaves and lotus petiole soup, that we almost certainly would never have discovered on our own. The same was true in the Samut Sakhon mangrove region. Many of the sites have small, difficult-to-find parking areas, and the market area of Mahachai is busy and confusing to navigate. Having an experienced local driver made it possible for us to see far more while remaining relaxed throughout the day. What impressed us most, however, was our driver's professionalism and personality. He was unfailingly polite, cheerful, and friendly, not only with us but with everyone we encountered. He was also remarkably flexible. When we discovered that the Samut Sakhon Aquarium was unexpectedly closed, he immediately helped us adjust our plans. When we noticed a sign for a handicraft center from the highway, he happily made an unplanned stop so we could visit. Throughout the trip, he consistently went out of his way to help us make the most of our time in Thailand. Please extend our sincere thanks to him. He played a major role in making this one of our most enjoyable and memorable trips, and we hope you will recognize the outstanding job he did."

We are planning to book this tour on Dec 25 (Christmas day). Will all the sites be open on that day? Also on return to Bangkok, will you be able to drop us at Don Mueang airport by 6 pm ?? Siva - 7 years ago

Yes, all the tourist sites included in the tour will be open as usual on December 25 (Christmas Day). You can enjoy the full experience without any closures or limitations.
Regarding your return to Bangkok, we can certainly drop you off directly at Don Mueang Airport by 6:00 PM to ensure you have enough time for your 7:20 PM flight to Phuket.
For your convenience, you may safely leave your luggage in our vehicle while touring. Our driver will remain with the vehicle at all times to ensure its security.
