Notice: Fireflies can be seen year-round, but their numbers fluctuate with the seasons. The best time to witness large, glowing swarms is during the rainy season (June to December), when the environment is most ideal for their display. During the dry summer months, sightings are fewer but still possible.

For the most magical viewing experience, we recommend visiting on moonless nights or during the waning moon phase. The darker the sky, the brighter the fireflies will appear — creating a truly unforgettable natural spectacle.

16:00 hrs.: Depart for Samut Songkhram.
Leave Bangkok and head southwest to Samut Songkhram, a charming coastal province located at the mouth of the Mae Klong River. Known for its fertile land, abundant fruit orchards, and seafood markets, the province offers a refreshing escape into rural Thai life — just 74 kilometers from the capital.
18:30 hrs.: Firefly Watching Boat Tour
Board a comfortable long-tail boat for a peaceful 1-hour cruise along the Mae Klong River. As twilight sets in, witness thousands of fireflies twinkling in unison among the mangrove trees — turning the riverside into a living, glowing forest.

Fireflies can be seen all year round. In January, which falls during the cool season, you can still see a good number of them. Plus, January 16th falls on a moonless night, so there will be no moonlight interference, making the fireflies’ glow even more visible and magical.

Yes. Firefly watching is available in every season.
Note: For any practice to watch the fireflies should not clutter and do not touch or do anything that interferes with the fireflies. Natural disturbances to a minimum and to watch the fireflies for a long time
