Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha Temple + Wat Arun
- 08:30 hrs.
- Depart from your hotel and head to Rattanakosin Island, the historic heart of Bangkok.
- 09:00 hrs.
- Hop on a public ferry and glide across the Chao Phraya River to Wat Arun. Marvel at the temple’s striking towers, especially stunning at dawn or dusk. Explore the peaceful monastery grounds, a hidden gem filled with architectural delights and tranquil spots.
- Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, rises above the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River. Explore the temple grounds and look closely at its decorated towers, with time to take in the riverside setting.
- 10:30 hrs.
- Visit Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, within the Grand Palace grounds. Explore the temple courtyards and see the ornate architecture of Bangkok's former royal residence. Access to individual buildings depends on the palace's visiting arrangements.
- 12:00 hrs.
- Continue your exploration with a sightseeing drive along Ratchadumnoen Rd, affectionately known as the Royal’s Way. This route is dotted with significant sites, including the City Pillar Shrine, National Museum, Democracy Monument, and the Anantasamakhom Palace, offering a panoramic view of Bangkok’s historical and cultural landmarks.
- Wat Phra Kaew is Thailand most sacred temple, so please do not wear shorts, or sandals.
- Certain buildings in the Palace grounds are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
