| 07:13 hrs | Board the local train from Samsean Train Station to Ayutthaya. (Rapid Train No # 111 / 66 Km.)
Things are happening in a train, playing children, sleeping people, pigs and chicken, people taking food to the market. When you look through the window, there’s a lot to been seen, the traffic jam in Bangkok, rice fields changing in color from bright green to yellow, temples and small villages. | |
| 08:35 hrs | Arrive Ayutthaya Train Station. Start Ayutthaya trip by take a "Kermit Tuk Tuk" (special type of motorized Tuk Tuk available only in Ayutthaya and city of Trang in the South) to Wat Yai Chaimongkon. A large working wat, with ruins that appear on some of the well known photos of temples in Thailand. It features a large reclining Buddha in saffron robes in its own ruined wiharn, and, most spectacularly, a huge chedi swathed in golden cloth set in a courtyard which is lined by Buddha images all wearing saffron robes. Very photogenic. Continue to visit Wat Phanancherng, contains the oldest large cast bronze Buddha image in Ayutthaya. | |

| 11:00 hrs | Visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram, one of the most imposing ancient Buddhist monasteries, was established by the command of King Prasatthong in 1630 A.D. It is believed that the wat is located on the site of his former home. The reason for building this monastery was to make merit for his mother. Prince Damrong Rachanuphap noted that its architecture was similar to that of Angkor Wat and inferred that the wat might have been built to commemorate the king’s victory over Cambodia. | |
